Zig Zag Cactus
$44.99 – $74.99
Hearty | Unusual | FloweringThe Selenicereus anthonyanus (aka Zig Zag, Fish Bone, or Ric Rac (most commonly called this in its juvenile state)) are fascinating plants! These drought-tollerant,epiphytic (grow harmlessly on other plants, often in trees), and spineless cacti start with a rounded shape and sharpen into a fish bone like pattern with age.Not only are these plants low maintence and very unique, they also have brilliant nocternal flowers! If you are ever blessed with a floral display be sure to take a picture!Lighting:Moderate to bright indirect (Lovers of light, brighter light will yeild faster growth and larger leaves)Water:Allow soil to dry most of the way (but never completely) between waterings (2-3 weeks on average but depends on size and environmental conditions). Likes some light misting but not reccomended for high humidty environments (such as a terrarium).Soil/Potting:Plant in a well draining soil (like a cactus mix) in a container with a drainage hole and made of slightly porous material like ceramic. Repot annually or when plant exhibits discoloration without the presence of any mis-watering habitsFertilize:Monthly with bacterial inoculant recommended for steady growth and to promote floweringTemperature:Hearty but protect from freezing (40-95 degrees is ideal), protect from harsh fluctuations in temperature particularly in the winterToxicity:Non-toxic for humans and pets; still definitely not tasty..Got plant questions?
