(Listing for Plant Only,Shop Pots and Planters)Open | Happy | VibrantBromeliads, like air plants, are epiphytes – this means that they naturally grow on other plants, usually trees, and get most of their nutrients and water from there! Because of this, bromeliads are typically potted in moss or bark (similarly to orchids) making them one of the easiest plants out there to take care of.Bromeliads grow in a large “cup” formation with a big, usually colorful growth shooting out of its center. This cup is what the plant primarily uses to collect water and nutrients, and it’s not uncommon for plant parents to fill the cup with water and switch it out regularly instead of solely watering the potting medium.Lighting:Bright, indirect light.Water:Water directly into the cup, and make sure you switch out that water once a week or so.Soil/Potting:Plant in moss, bark, or a similar medium. These plants can also be grow in a fashion similar to air plants, where they are attached to a piece of bark.Fertilize:Fertilize monthly with bacterial inoculant.Temperature:Room temp (55-85 degrees is ideal). Protect it from harsh fluctuations in temperature particularly in the winter.Toxicity:Non-toxic to humans and pets.Got plant questions? Get in touch – we’d be glad to help!
